Update. 😍

Hi friends and family!

We have received so much encouragement and love from so many people! We are so thankful for that. We have been given the money for our home study!! A family member has gifted it to us! SO shockingly blessed! We are planning to have the home study done when I return from California. 😃 on top of the home study gift we have raised a few dollars shy of 1,100.00! God is good. You guys are amazing! Thank you!!!

I am going to California to spend time with our birth mother, my family and friends. It will be the first time back "home" since my mother passed away. It will be bittersweet as I will be immersed in the town where she was such a big part of my life. On top of it all, I don't get to share with her this happy, stressful, beautiful time in my life... Makes me so mournful and want to cry out for her. But I know she is in Heaven looking down, smiling her beautiful smile.

I am looking forward to seeing baby parks for the 1st time ever. I get to go to a prenatal appointment on the 21st! I am SO excited to hear his heartbeat. I wish Joey could come but unfortunately he has to stay and hold down the fort while adding to his vacation time from work when our bundle of joy comes! :-)

Today is Valentines day, and as Joey and I have no extra funds for ridiculous items that corporate America loves to tell us we need we decided to spend 10.00 on a 60.00 coat at "the children's place" 10 bucks!! So amazing! Picture below! It's a 3in1 for 6-9 months! AND I broke out my sewing machine and random fabric I already had and made 4 burp cloths, I remember Hunter had hand made burp cloths from His nana, and I loved them, so I figured I will try my hand at it. They turned out great!!! :-)

OH and another thing I wanted to share with you that's been a very helpful thing for us with the dogs. I babysat this 6month old baby a few weeks ago, I wrapped him up in a receiving blanket and got all the "scents" of a baby on it. I brought the blanket home and wrapped my cabbage patch doll in it, the. Proceeded to play baby crying noises from my phone, and "introduce" baby to the dogs. They were very good about it. VERY interested in the scent of baby. So anyway, here's a photo of the "baby" on our changing table. :-)

Adoption "maternity" photos and financial update...

A few weeks ago, we sent out our support letters, with those letters we included a photo, but I totally spaced and forgot to upload the rest of them onto our blog! So here's a few photos from our photographer Erin Russell, she was amazing. We had a lot of fun doing them, but BOY was it freezing!!! :-)

We have raised just over 600.00 so far, we are almost halfway to having the money for the first big "hoop" which is the home study. The home study costs around 1,000 to 1,500 dollars. Yes we have to pay some stranger to come into our home, our personal lives, our finances, and tell us if we can or can not have a baby. Baby Parks- this is all for you honey!!

Registering... :-)

We went looking for a diaper changing pad at our local babies r us... They actually didn't have any! We decided since we were there that we would register. We already registered at amazon.com- but we figured it would be fun to register in a store as well. We hope to have a shower in california, maybe after he's born possibly before? We aren't sure... But we thought it would be best for anyone who wanted to give a gift could order it online and then it could easily be delivered to our house. No one would have to worry about carting anything around. And we also hope to have a shower here in Washington with our friends and family here. :-)

But... This is all secondary. Raising the funds to adopt is our main mission, and our end goal is to have our little man in our arms even if that's with 2nd hand items. The love that The Lord has put in our hearts for baby parks is extraordinary... It's almost unexplainable how much we love him, we haven't met him, but we feel so connected to him already. God is SO awesome how he is preparing our hearts and our minds, each morning when we get up he is in our thoughts, and as we lay our head down on our pillow each night we can't help but but think of our son.

What JOY!!! Oh my goodness!!! We are going to be a family! I'm going to be a momma!! Joey will finally be called daddy! I can't explain the amount of excitement I feel as I type each word out! Eeeeeeeeeek!!!!!! :-)

We have been talking with our adoption Lawyer and she finally came up with what the cost will most likely be, we are now looking at around 11grand.

Father, you know how to provide, waaaaayyy more than we can even fathom. We pray for your peace to come to us, for your will to be done and that you would bring baby Parks into our home through some sort of miracle. You are amazing Lord, we praise your name in good times and in troubled times! Blessed be the name of the Lord!
